Here is an axiom for schools such as Ouspensky and I were lucky
enough to find: Your teacher, or teachers, can't help helping you,
as long as you have the capacity to grow, and to understand. One
time my own teacher said, "It's therapy for people who don't
need therapy." In Ouspensky's In Search of the Miraculous,
"Observation showed," according to Gurdjieff, "that
people who were weak in life proved themselves weak in the work."
(p. 12) Well, weak is an interesting choice of words, because
the part of a person that dreams at night is, of course, very weak,
and that's yourself, and it's searching for you.
