(Dream) When I come into the room, my new friend says a few words to me, telling me to look at the e-mails I've been ignoring. I can't help it! I keep deleting them! I tell him a few words about the project I'm working on, and he tells me he'll mention it to his good friend, Bill Gates. (Fin) (Dream) As I watch, a woman puts her entire paycheck into an envelope, seals it, and gives it to her daughter, who doesn't even bother opening it. In fact, her daughter simply takes it, gets into her car, and drives off without even as much as a good-bye. The woman simply watches her go, and after a sufficient period of time goes by, breaks into tears, (Fin) and just as I wake up, a voice cries out in my mind, "Nobody wants you! Want me!" I see a ball of intense human energy ducking for cover down in the core of my abdomen. |

(Dream) I'm in a classroom at Dartmouth College going over my writing assignment, which is to write two short essays. This is very interesting for me, seeings how I'm not even an English major. I look over the work I've done, and realize my essays are so short they amount to no more than two very carefully typeset pages, one essay to a page. A class advisor looks over my two blue and gold and silver typeset pages and tells me she thinks my writing is a little two smooth, bordering on narcissism, leaving me to wonder if maybe I can rough it up a little. I look up to see where my best friend has gone, and realize only three or four people are even left here in the study hall. Damn! I've got to get to class and even before then, have got to find a copy service to xerox my two pages before I submit them, and besides that, since I'm new to the English Department, it's not even clear to me in what building my first class is! Wentworth Hall? I even forget where that is. (Fin) |
